Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche will continue teaching from the cycle of Kusum Rangshar (The Spontaneous Arising of the Three Bodies), one of the most important Dzogchen texts in the Bönpo tradition.
Tummo is an integral part of Dzogchen practice. By liberating conceptual and habitual grasping and judgments, these practices leads the practitioner in the realization of pure vision of inner light.
During this three day retreat Rinpoche will introduce Tummo practice as a supporting form to abiding in the Natural State. The focus of these meditation forms is to find greater clarity (deeper experience) of the Nature of Mind through engaging the inherent energy of body, breath, channels, chakras and mind.
Dzogchen meditation is considered to be the highest and most profound practice in Bön tradition. According to this tradition, the ultimate nature of mind is pure and perfect. In contrast, the clouds of negative emotions and discursive thoughts of the conceptual mind are temporary manifestations without inherence like reflections in a mirror. Through recognition of and meditation in the ultimate nature of mind one obtains self liberation from the bound of hopes and fears associated with egocentric identity.
During his visits Khenpo Rinpoche gave teachings on Trekchod, Thodgal, Sleep and Dream practice, Rushan, (special preliminary practices), Semdzin (Fixation of Mind), and Semtsol (Searching of Mind), and basic introduction of nature of mind according to this cycle of Kusum Rangshar.
Originally compiled by Shardza Tashi Gyaltsen, “The Spontaneous Arising of the Three Bodies” includes comprehensive teachings on Rushan, Trekchod, Thodgal, Sleep and Dream practice, Tummo, Tsalung, Tchulen, etc. A complete cycle of teaching is formed which leads one towards manifesting signs of true realization with dedicated regular practice. Khenpo Rinpoche will continue the teaching of this text until fully completed.
Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche is the Abbot of Triten Norbutse Monastery in Nepal and the Superior at Shenten Dargye Ling in France. His teaching style honors the traditional Tibetan monastic tradition as transmitted through the lineage Masters – he instructs directly from the original Bönpo root texts.
Shardza Tashi Gyaltsen was one of the leading luminaries of recently realized Bönpo masters. His literary works and instruction manuals on Dzogchen, Tantra and Sutra are revered to this day. In 1934 Shardza Rinpoche attained the ultimate realization of Dzogchen practices by transferring his being into the Rainbow Body of Light (Jalus) at the end of his earthly life at age 76.
