In this fundraising event sponsored by Himalayan Bön Foundation Khenchen Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche will be offering  in-depth teachings and guided practices on Zhine and Semtsol meditation, as part of the introduction to the true Nature of the Mind. This immersive training will follow Nyamzhag Gompai Laglen (Manual for Meditation), one of the essential chapters from Zhangzhung Nyengyud.

Dzogpa Chenpo, or the Great Perfection, stands as the pinnacle of meditation practices within the Nine Ways of Bön. This transformative practice consists of two key aspects—Trekchod and Thogal—and focuses on directly experiencing the essence of the mind without interference from conceptual meditation or rituals.

To fully engage with Dzogpa Chenpo, a strong foundation in Zhine (calm abiding) meditation is vital. Zhine meditation is the cornerstone of all forms of meditation, including sutra, tantra, and Dzogpa Chenpo. It quiets the mind’s distractions towards external objects, enabling practitioners to maintain single-pointed focus on the heart of meditation. This practice encompasses two stages known as Semdzin (Fixation of the mind) and Semtsol (Searching of the mind), integral parts of the Bonpo Dzogchen teachings.

For work study opportunities and any questions you might have, please reach out to hudsonvalleyretreat@himalayanbon.org. We look forward to seeing you at the teachings!
